"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." - Mahatma Ghandi

Why Become A Member

Government Legislation:
By becoming a member, you lend your voice to our organization which lobbies all levels of government to improve the laws that protect the rights of animals. Numbers matter. The larger the group the more power it has to influence politicians. Many politicians are in full support of our initiatives, and the more of us they have behind them, the more they will be listened to by those who can effect change. Every voice counts.

Financial support:
Your fee helps to provide food, supplies and medical care for the hundreds of animals we rescue each year.

Benefits For You

We encourage members to join as a family if that is your situation. You get a few tangible benefits such as discounts at certain retail outlets which are listed on your membership card. More importantly though is that you are making a statement about your values, convictions and about how we as a humane society should be treating the animals in our care.

You are setting an example for your children that all responsible and caring people should support their beliefs through action. By participating in the events we hold each year, you teach your children how rewarding it is to help others. What better place to start teaching the benefits of giving than with animals. It is a natural connection.

You become a member of a new network of people committed to the concept of social responsibility and to having fun with their pets. Each quarter the Kings SPCA mails you a newsletter filled with useful information about pets, current and upcoming events, highlights of our activities and other local news. It can be a useful educational tool for reading and discussions with your whole family. Everyone wins... your family, your pets, the needy pets of our community and animals in general.
